Mike and Mal Leyland, also known as The Leyland Brothers, were Australian explorers and documentary film-makers, best known for their popular television show, Ask the Leyland Brothers. The show ran on Australian television from 1976 until 1984.
In South Australia the Leylands visit Mt. Gambier and film not only the picturesque town in the heart of rich grazing country but also the spectacular crater lakes. The rich Blue Lake which changes colour without explanation every year, features in this story. In Tasmania we trace the history of the island state through its buildings and structures which give this state the reputation as the most historical part of Australia. In Cairns, Queensland, we see how an aboriginal woman is creating world class pottery which is featured in art exhibitions throughout the world.
