Mike and Mal Leyland, also known as The Leyland Brothers, were Australian explorers and documentary film-makers, best known for their popular television show, Ask the Leyland Brothers. The show ran on Australian television from 1976 until 1984.
In Dubbo NSW the Leylands show what life was like in the early jails of the 1800s when they film the old Dubbo Jail including a complete hangmans kit and gallows. In Victoria, we see a car which is powered by a revolutionary steam engine. The Pritchard steam car could be the car of the future if its inventor has his way. In Coffs Harbour NSW the Leylands show how bananas are grown and also show how the Hamee family produce dried bananas for health food shops all around Australia.
