The skills of the past live on in the valley of the old timers near Lorrina in Tasmania. The oldest lighthouse built in Australia that still in operates stands on the rugged coast at Cape Otway on the Victorian side of Bass Strait. The Leylands show how this lighthouse works and how vital it is even to todays navigation through these treacherous waters. The city of Broken Hill features in the final segment as the Leylands go underground three thousand feet to show viewers the valuable silver, lead and zinc ore being dug from the earth.
